Jola Cafe

Repurposing A Cafe in John's Landing

The main challenge was to give the narrow, deep room as much natural light as possible. The entire front wall of the café was constructed with a glass door and multiple windows; the interior walls and ceiling painted white, and the floor polished concrete, which gives the space an abundance of natural light, even on the cloudiest Portland days.

For this project Reworks took on a complete remodel of an existing neighborhood café.  Reclaimed wood and other materials were used extensively, so that even though the overall aesthetic was spare and uncluttered, it was still a space that felt warm, inviting and comfortable.
