Northwest Modern Timberframe

Conceived of as a sanctuary embracing indoor/outdoor living in a breathtaking rural setting, this home encompasses expansive views enhancing an intimate and cozy living space. Large windows draw in light and vistas, and over-sized sliders connect to the exterior. Outdoor rooms are created by the interlocking design of the building, plantings and hardscaping. Concrete walls mingled with patined timbers, raw steel and glass create a sense of industrial, which is softened by the finely finished cabinetry and details. This home features a geothermal/hydronic radiant heat system, reclaimed wood throughout, high-flyash concrete, passive solar design with thermal massing, and high performance windows. Planned future additions include a large ecoroof over the garage, rainwater catchment to meet irrigation needs, and a solar photovoltaic system.
